MONTROSE, Colo - Ross Reels, the award-winning manufacturer of high-performance fly fishing reels and the anchor tenant of the Colorado Outdoors development in Montrose, announced today that it has earned the 2019 Colorado Manufacturing Award in the Outstanding Outdoor Industry Brand category. The company was recognized for excellence and innovation across the state’s manufacturing industries and economy.
“We’re thrilled to be recognized a second time by the Colorado Manufacturing Awards for our outstanding products and brand,” said David Dragoo, president of Ross Reels. “We have dedicated significant time and effort to create beautiful ‘made in Colorado’ products that represent the outstanding people committed to innovative manufacturing in Montrose.”
The Colorado Manufacturing Awards are presented by CompanyWeek, a digital media outlet reporting on the regional manufacturing economy, and Manufacturers Edge, Colorado’s NIST MEP. The award ceremony was hosted on April 4 at The Cable Center in Denver. This is Ross Reels second CMA award, as the company received the award in 2017 in the Consumer and Lifestyle category.
Mayfly outdoors, parent company of Ross Reels, recently moved into a new 41,000-sq.-ft. facility as part of Montrose’s Colorado Outdoors project, a community-minded development. Not only does the company manufacture world-renowned fly fishing products, but the brand is also supportive of the community and outdoor industry, through local conservation efforts in Montrose. In December 2018, Mayfly proudly donated more than $800,000 in property back to Montrose, of which included nearly 1.5 miles of riverfront land and about 1.8 million-sq.-ft. of wildlife and fishing habitat.Return To News Articles
